Butte’s own Tim Montana is pioneering a new frontier in hard rock. Growing up in Butte, he received his first guitar at just six years old and has been passionate about music ever since. He has developed a fiery blend of country and rock, culminating in the release of "Tim Montana and the Shrednecks" on February 24, 2016, featuring four tracks with Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top. Recently, Tim and Billy acquired the historic Wise River Lodge, adding another chapter to their journey. Don’t miss the return of hometown hero Tim Montana and the Shrednecks!
Tim’s upbringing was marked by a tumultuous and unconventional childhood in an off-the-grid trailer. At barely eighteen, he left Montana behind, driven by an insatiable work ethic. Along the way, he carved out a unique niche for himself. His career highlights include a performance on The Late Show with David Letterman—a rare opportunity for an independent artist—collaborations with icons like Billy Gibbons and Kid Rock, and a viral fan moment with Charlie Sheen, who directed his "Mostly Stoned" video. Even his idol, Dave Grohl, has been in his corner.
In 2023, Tim made waves in the rock scene with "Devil You Know," which was hailed as “flawless” and recognized as one of the “30 Best Rock + Metal Songs of 2023” by LoudWire. The single climbed Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay and Rock & Alternative Airplay charts, earning him recognition as an “On The Verge Artist” by iHeartRadio. He quickly found himself touring with bands like Staind, Seether, Saint Asonia, Bush, and Jerry Cantrell of Alice In Chains.
Returning to Montana reignited Tim’s creativity, inspiring his upcoming 2024 album, Savage. With harder hooks, louder distortion, and a freer spirit, he’s telling a story that resonates well beyond his home state. Get ready for the first single and title track, "Savage," and more exciting music to come!
